Soya kebabs are delicious and easy to make vegetarian appetizer/starter recipe and good option for any kind of parties. So let's know how to make it.

Preparation time : 40 mins
Cooking time : 20 mins
Servings : 4

Ingredients needed :

1.) Soya chunks/granules - 200gm

2.) Onion - 1 medium finely chopped and 1 large deep fried

3.) Ginger garlic paste - 2-3 tbsp

4.) Gram flour/Besan - 1/2 cup

5.) All purpose flour/Maida - 2 tbsp

6.) Green chillies - 3 chopped

7.) Fresh coriander leaves - few chopped

8.) Garam masala powder - 3 tbsp

9.) Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp

10.) Salt - as per taste

11.) Chaat masala powder - 1 tbsp

12.) Oil - For frying and 2 tbsp adding into soya mixture

Method of preparation :

1.) Soak soya chunks in boiled water for 10 mins.  Drain the water using sieve. Wash the soya chunks again with normal water 2-3 time until raw smell of soya goes away, then squeeze the soya chunks to remove the water absorbed by it. Transfer  these soya chunks to the mixer grinder and grind them to thick paste. (Do not make very fine paste). Transfer it to a bowl.

2.) Slice one large onion and fry them in oil. Then in a mixer grinder grind these fried onions to make it a paste. In a tava or a pan, dry roast the gram flour and keep it aside.

3.) Take a large bowl, add minced soya, ginger garlic paste, roasted gram flour, maida, fried onion paste, green chillies, chopped onions, chopped coriander, spices and 2 tbsp of oil or ghee.

4.) Mix well with your hand and knead well.

5.) Take some water in a bowl to wet your hand while making each kebab. Wet your right hand and take the skewer(i have used pen here) in your left hand and take some mixture in your wet right hand and shape the kebab and keep it aside. Make other raw seekh kebabs in this way.

6.) For deep frying, heat oil in a kadai/pan. Oil once hot, add 3-4 kebabs at a time and fry them from all sides until they are golden brown, rotating them occasionally to fry them on all sides.(You can even shallow fry the kebabs on medium low flame on a griddle or tawa and pour some ghee over it.)

7.) You can also roast them in the tandoor, oven or barbecue.

8.) The seekh kebabs are ready to serve. Sprinkle some lemon juice and chaat masala over the kebabs and serve it hot with onion rings and mint chutney.
