Chilli chicken
Chilli chicken is one of the most popular Indo-Chinese appetizer or starter that you can easily prepare at home. If you like sweet and spicy chicken then this recipe will become your favourite instantly. This dish is best paired with Hakka noodles and fried rice. This is a super simple recipe with juicy boneless chicken, a sweet and spicy sauce and lots of onions, ginger, garlic and capsicum. Chilli chicken can be made dry or with gravy. So without much delay let's start the recipe.

Ingredients required :
For Marinating the chicken :
1.) Boneless chicken thighs : 250gm
2.) All purpose flour/Maida : 3 tablespoon
3.) Cornflour/Makke ka Atta : 3 tablespoon
5.) Black pepper powder : 1 teaspoon
6.) Kashmir red chilli powder - 1 tablespoon for vibrant red colour (optional)
For making sweet and spicy sauce :
1.) Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
2.) Red chilli sauce - 1 tablespoon
3.) Green chilli sauce - 1 tablespoon
4.) Tomato ketchup - 1 tablespoon
5.) Vinegar : 1 tablespoon
6.) Salt - as per taste
7.) Black pepper powder : 1 teaspoon
8.) Bell peppers/capsicum - 2 (Red & green) roughly sliced into cubes
9.) Onions - 1 Large roughly sliced into cubes
10.) Ginger(adrak) - 1/2 inch piece finely chopped
11.) Garlic - 5-6 cloves finely chopped
12.) Green chillies - 3-4 slit into two halves
13.) Oil for frying the chicken and for making sauce - 5-6 tablespoon
14.) Dried red chillies - 2
15.) Coriander leaves/spring onions - few leaves finely chopped (garnishing)
Method of Preparation :
1.) Take the chicken in a bowl and add all purpose flour, cornflour, black pepper powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, salt and little water. Batter should not be too runny, it should be thick so that chicken pieces are well coated with the batter. Keep the marination aside for about 20 mins.
2.) Heat oil in a wok or a pan and fry the chicken pieces over high heat to begin with and then lower the flame. Fry until the chicken is cooked through and colour changes to golden brown.
