8.) Bell peppers/capsicum - 2 (Red & green) roughly sliced into cubes

9.) Onions - 1 Large roughly sliced into cubes

10.) Ginger(adrak) - 1/2 inch piece finely chopped

11.) Garlic - 5-6 cloves finely chopped

12.) Green chillies - 3-4 slit into two halves

13.) Oil for frying the chicken and for making sauce - 5-6 tablespoon

14.) Dried red chillies - 2

15.) Coriander leaves/spring onions - few leaves finely chopped (garnishing)

Method of Preparation :

1.) Take the chicken in a bowl and add all purpose flour, cornflour, black pepper powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, salt and  little water. Batter should not be too runny, it should be thick so that chicken pieces are well coated with the batter. Keep the marination aside for about 20 mins.

2.) Heat oil in a wok or a pan and fry the chicken pieces over high heat to begin with and then lower the flame. Fry until the chicken is cooked through and colour changes to golden brown.

3.) Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan/wok, add ginger, garlic, dried red chilli and stir fry untill raw smell of ginger and garlic goes away.

4.) Now add onions, bell peppers and stir fry over high heat so that the vegetables retain its crunchiness and onions become transluscent.

5.) Now add green chillies, soy sauce, red chilli sauce, green chilli sauce, tomato ketchup and vinegar. Lower the flame.
6.) Add chicken pieces and give them a stir. Add little amount of water and cook until water is absorbed. Ensure chicken is completely cooked.

6.) When chilli chicken gets a semi gravy consistency, switch off the flame, garnish it with coriander leaves or spring onions. Serve it hot with noodles or fried rice. Enjoy !!!
