Spanish Omlette

Spanish Omlette or Spanish tortilla is a classic traditional dish from spain. It is an omelette made with eggs and potatoes optionally including onions. Crispy, fried potatoes and eggs make up this popular Spanish recipe perfect for picnics and parties. You can even experiment it by simply adding leftover vegetables, cooked sausages, crumbled or grated cheese. It will taste great, so let's get started.

Ingredients used :

1.) Eggs - 6

2.) Potatoes - 3 medium sized finely chopped

3.) Onion - 1 medium sized finely chopped

4.) Tomatoes - 1 medium (optional) finely chopped

5. Grated cheese - 1/2 cup

6.) Salt - As per taste

7.) Black pepper powder - 1teaspoon

8.) Italian herbs - 1 teaspoon (optional)

9.) Oil - 1/2 cup

10.) Fresh coriander leaves - few chopped

Method of Preparation :

1.) In a large frying pan or skillet, heat oil on medium high flame. Once oil is hot, add chopped onions, cook and stir occasionally until onions become soft and transluscent.

2.) Now add chopped potatoes, sprinkle some salt and cook it until becomes golden brown and crisp.


3.) Finally add chopped tomatoes and cook it until soft. Meanwhile beat eggs together with salt, pepper, chopped coriander and Italian herbs.  


4.) Pour eggs into pan and stir it gently to combine. Reduce heat to low and cook until eggs begin to brown on the bottom.

5.) Add grated cheese on the omlette. Loosen bottom of omelette using spatula, invert a large plate over the pan and carefully turn the omelette out onto it. Slide the omelette back into the pan with the uncooked side down. Cook until eggs are set. 

6.) Serve it warm with tomato ketchup. Enjoy 😋😍
