Dahi puri

Dahi Puri is an Indian street food chaat recipe filled with yogurt and chaat chutneys. A typical serving of dahi puri consists of green chutney, sweet and spicy tamarind chutney, curd and boiled potatoes. You can even add finely chopped onions and tomatoes. This dish is a form of chaat and originated from the state of maharashtra. So let's jump on the recipe.

Servings : 2

Ingredients needed :

1.) Puris/Papdis : 10

2.) Boiled and peeled potato : 1 medium

3.) Curd/ yogurt(thick and fresh) : 1 cup

4.) Tamarind chutney : 5 tsp

5.) Green chutney : 5 tsp

6.) Pinch of Kashmiri red chilli powder sprinkled on each puri

7.) Pinch of Chaat masala powder sprinkled on each puri

8.) Salt to taste

9.) Besan sev - 2 tbsp (optional)

10.) Roasted cumin powder - 1 tsp sprinkled on each puri

Method of Preparation:

1.) Cut boiled potato into small pieces and add little bit of salt, chaat masala powder, red chilli powder into it. Mix the spices well and keep it aside.

2.) Make a hole at the center of the puri with your thumb. Now stuff 1 tsp of boiled potato into all the puris.

3.) Now add generous amount of thin besan sev and curd into each puris. Further sprinkle some red chilli powder, chaat masala powder, roasted cumin powder into it.

4.) Further pour and spread generous amount of tamarind chutney and green chutney into each puri. Top it up with little curd and sprinkle some thin sev on all the puris. Serve dahi puri immediately.
